TEAM coaches work primarily to support schools and districts in strengthening and developing a better understanding of the TEAM evaluation rubric and process. Regional TEAM coaches can provide guidance and support in the following areas:
- Implementing student growth portfolio models and Early Learning Model practices (ELM)
- Identifying and implementing the most impactful evidence-based strategies aligned to district-level needs regarding evaluation implementation
- Managing teacher and administrator evaluation processes

First TN: Tammie Davis
Tammie Davis, a lifelong resident of Kingsport Tennessee, earned her B.S. in music education from Tennessee Tech in 1983 and her M.Ed. in educational leadership and policy analysis from East Tennessee State University in 1992. She retired from Kingsport City Schools in June 2015 after 32 years of service as a middle school orchestra and choir director, elementary principal, elementary supervisor, and chief human resources officer. East TN: Melanie Harb
Melanie Harb has thirty-two years of experience in education. She earned her Bachelors of Science degree in elementary education (1-9) in 1985 and then received her master’s degree in administration from Lincoln Memorial University in 1993. Southeast: Lisa Montgomery
Lisa Montgomery has almost 24 years of teaching and instructional coaching experience. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in music education from Tennessee Wesleyan College in 1992 and her Master of Science degree in education from Tusculum College in 1997. She earned an endorsement in elementary education K-8 from Lee University in 2005. Prior to the TEAM coach role, she served as a pre-K-8 instructional coach and certified evaluator. Upper Cumberland: Valeria Voiles
Valeria Voiles has almost 26 years of teaching and administrative experience in Tennessee schools. Prior to the TEAM coach role, she served as an English language arts teacher and coordinator of instruction (9-12) at the Alvin C. York Agricultural Institute in Fentress County. She holds a B.S. in education and a M.S. in informational science from the University of Tennessee–Knoxville. South Central: Scott Duncan
Scott Duncan served as TEAM coach in the Southeast region for the past three years. Prior to his work there, he served as an administrator and classroom teacher in numerous districts across Tennessee. He earned his Bachelor of Science in early childhood education from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City. Scott earned his Master of Education and Educational Specialist degrees from Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate. Mid Cumberland: Dr. Trudy Day
Dr. Trudy Day is a native of Nashville, Tennessee with family roots in Middle Tennessee. She holds a B.A. from Vanderbilt University in history, a M.S. from Tennessee State University in counseling and psychology, and an Ed.D. from the University of Louisville in educational leadership. Dr. Day has served public schools as a teacher in grades 5-12, an assistant principal, a guidance counselor, a principal, a university assistant dean, and a director of new teacher development. Northwest: Dr. Wanda Small
Dr. Wanda Small spent 16 years in her hometown school district, Henderson County Schools in West Tennessee, serving as principal and elementary supervisor the last eight years. She holds a B.S. from Bethel University, a M.Ed. from Freed-Hardeman, an Ed.S. from Union University in curriculum and supervision, and an Ed.D. from Union University in instructional leadership. Southwest: Tracy Riddle
Tracy Riddle spent two decades as a classroom teacher, assistant principal, and principal in her hometown school district, Haywood County Schools in West Tennessee.
