World Languages

During the 2012-13 school year, a group of teachers from Memphis City Schools developed and implemented a world language student growth portfolio pilot. Three districts implemented the model at scale. After data was collected, the model was submitted to the State Board of Education for approval in the summer of 2013, where it was approved as an optional alternate growth measure. For the 2013-14 school year, Shelby County Schools’ K-8 teachers implemented the model at scale. Two districts implement this model during the 2019-20 school year.
